The Duke of World contest was conceived in 2006, when Buchi George, director of Headline Media and Events Ltd., decided to stage the first male contest in Nigeria, Duke of World Nigeria, and later Duke of World in 2009(World’s most adorable nobleman). There were numerous pageants for women and nothing for the men. So, George carefully planned and engineered his Duke of World Nigeria (DOWN) and Mister Ebony World Nigeria (MEWN), and later planned Emperor of Africa contest (a male contest for Africans that is based on modeling, talent, intelligence and good leadership qualities). The first ever Duke of World contest will be held in Australia in 2009 and we are sure it will be a full time success.


The Duke of World competition will give new opportunities in advertising and promoting of male related products and services in a refreshing and macho way.  The Duke of World contest is a search for the most admired, sexy, smart and stylish man. It will be a very popular and number one male pageant in the world. The Duke of World Nigeria contest has since grown in terms of sponsorship and numbers of participants, and shall pave way for the Duke of World contest in 2009, a worldwide event to get the world’s grand Duke.


Duke of World became International in 2007. It will be first held in Australia's Gold Coast in 2009. The Duke of World contest is an international event. We run a joint partnership with our American, Zimbabwe, Barbadian, Singaporean, Canadian and Australian partners, and many other international supporters and sponsors.


We hope the pageant will be one of the most successful events in 2009, as we are expecting lots of the world's most searched for and desirable males from over 100 countries to come to Australia to compete for the prestigious title. The cash award and prizes for 2009 winner alone will exceed $100,000.00. Duke of World International 2009 world final will be held in Australia from 22th to 29th August, 2009.



After 2009, the World Final will leave Australia to another nation, as it is a rotational contest. George is   very happy that the dream and vision of Duke of World Nigeria is leaving Nigerian shores of Africa to   Australia to, maybe Manila, Philippines, South Africa or Bahamas in 2010. Here we are expecting more than 120 countries or more in 2010 contest. In Duke of World Nigeria, a 24 year old male model, Mister Segun Temitope, emerged the 2007 winner. This later gave birth to Duke of Eastern Nigeria, where delegates from a total of 10 eastern Nigerian states participated in the contest on the 19th of July, 2008 in Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria. Gratefully, the dream and vision of Duke of World is now a world event. The event, we hope, will attract more sponsors and supporters round the world.
